Pre-notification at French border

14 May 2021 5:00 PM | Sandra Sullivan (Administrator)

The French authorities have confirmed all Border Control Posts (BCPs) in France will accept 4-hour pre-notification for all chilled consignments.

Prior to import, the operator responsible for the consignment must notify entry of goods subject to SPS controls at a BCP at least 4 hours before arrival of the consignment in the EU territory. To guarantee a smooth border crossing, pre-notification must occur before goods are loaded onto the ferry/shuttle. The pre-notification must be submitted via TRACES-NT, the European Commission platform, by completing Part 1 of the common health entry document (CHED).
