Featured Exporter - Borna Foods

Borna Foods' innovative nut products are proving popular in the Middle East. They tell us more about their recent export successes

Tell us about Borna Foods...
Borna Foods is a young British company based in the UK, and we know our nuts! We serve both local and international markets so everyone can get their hands on the nutty goodness – we’ve become leaders in innovative pistachio, almond and cashew products.

Borna Foods' range of fresh, aromatic flavours, stretches across premium nuts, artisan butters and nutritious milk-alternative drinks. We are on a mission to open your mind to the wonderful world of nut products.  Borna Foods came to life in 2014 as a European wholesaler. Three years later we launched our first retail products such as nut butters and the UK’s first milk alternative made from pistachio nuts.

Where have you seen export growth in recent months? Our wholesale export business has been growing in Italy in recent months whereas our retail products are highly popular in Spain. From a wholesale side, our pistachios in bulk are doing really well whereas from a retail perspective, we have seen growth across our portfolio of plant based drinks because it is so innovative as a product and can be easily swapped with dairy products.

What are your Export ambitions for the future?

We will continue to grow our retail range across the Middle East region. We expect to start listing our products in the United Arab Emirates by the end of August.

The demand for plant-based foods is booming and we believe that our products will bring innovation and value to the Middle East market.
